About Sherry
Sherry (she/her) has been a licensed counselling therapist in the unceded territory of the Wəlastəkwiyik/Wolastoqiyik (WOOL-ah-sto-gway) people [Fredericton region] since 2014. She has been actively involved in leadership roles for not-for-profits since 2016. She sat as the president of the Technology and Innovative Solutions Chapter (TISC) of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) and oversaw the publishing of the current guidelines of ethical technology use in counselling therapy, endorsed by the CCPA. She is also the president of the College of Counselling Therapists of New Brunswick (CCTNB) which oversees the regulatory and licensing process of Licensed Counselling Therapists across New Brunswick.
Sherry is also a female start-up entrepreneur pursuing market solutions from her research into virtual reality (VR) and its effects on mood in long-term care centre residents.
She has been fascinated by the intersection between the digital age, the normalization of digital practice, and their impact on clients and practitioners in therapy.
